Georgie Whitaker and Wot A CharmerSadly back in December 2009 I had a nasty fall from my horse which resulted in a broken leg. I had to have an operation on my leg and was told I would not be able to do anything for 3 months. Having worked so hard to get my horse Mak’s fitness and training to a high level, I was concerned about him having 3 months off. Jazz was the only person that I would consider to have school Mak over a period time. Jazz was extremely reliable and did not let me down once with Mak. She often videoed her sessions with him so that I could see how she was getting on with him, as I was not able to get to the yard. Jazz always ran anything by me that she wanted to do with Mak and did not do anything that I was not comfortable with. Jazz also did some jumping with Mak and took him to a BSJA competition where they achieved 2 double clears. Mak is not by any means an easy horse to ride, Jazz experienced a couple of falls with Mak herself but never gave up with him, and in the 3 months that Jazz was schooling him, he learnt lots of new techniques and was like a different horse to ride when I finally got back on. When I started riding Mak again, I had lessons with Jazz so that I could understand her methods of training, and she could teach me what worked for her and Mak. I had completely lost my confidence because of my accident and Jazz was brilliant with me, very patient and understanding. Jazz has improved my technique, especially with jumping 1000 times over and I am so grateful to her for all her help and support through what was a very difficult time. |
